Title: Painted faces and long hair

Writing from Simon’s perspective

Title: The hunt

  1. What things are you having trouble adjusting to on the islands that are different from your life at home in England?

Life on the island has been tough for all of us. Jack looks like he has adjusted well, too well... in fact I suspect that he also doesn’t want to be rescued.

  1. How do you feel about the littluns?

The littluns, as usual running around like this is some sort of resort. They need to start working otherwise they're going to get punished. I feel that they should at least try to help. Their disrespect is blatant.

  1. What do they do with their time?

The littluns just play all the time while we the biggins are working and hunting and building huts. They do nothing all day but swim and have fun.

  1. Why do you all paint your faces?

Jack and his clan of hunters are always so full of themselves thinking that they can just pick on Piggy and get away with it. When they go hunting, they paint their faces so that the pigs do not see them, and then they can form a circle around it and kill it.

  1. What does this foreshadow?

I think that the swarthiness of the painted faces is not a good sign for things to come in the future on this island. I think that the war paint means war and killing. The way they acted was so animal-like that I didn’t think they were human. It was all about killing.

  1. How do you feel when your face is painted?

I feel like malevolently killing something because that’s what I am, an animal or that’s what I feel like, Almost like I’m the paramount to a pig.

  1. Why doesn’t the passing ship see you on the island?

The passing ship does not see the fire because Jack let it go out. I told him it wasn’t a good idea, but he convinced me and now we lost a chance to be rescued.

  1. Why was the fire allowed to go out?

The fire was allowed to go out because the hunters and I needed more people to help make a circle and we let the fire out. It was a mistake though.

  1. What is the overall mood on the island at this time?

I think that the overall mood on the island is neutral. Although there is some heat between Ralph and Jack I don’t think anything serious is going to happen yet.

  1. What do you predict will happen next?

I think that the hunting will continue and that Ralph will take some initiative and get the little ones to work otherwise no meat for them!

LOTF chapter 3 (blog post 3)

Blog post 3: LOTF
From the perspective of: Piggy

The day started off as any other day would start, Ralph and jack were starting to bicker about responsibilities, and the “littluns” just acted like they had no care in the world. As Jack set of in the forest with the hunters I went to the deck and sat there. I had to think of a solution to these problems and sooner or later Jack or Ralph of someone would ask for my help, because sooner or later they would need me to help. I sat there for about an hour, thinking about things, and then I went to the fruit trees and ate some fruit. What I really wanted was some meat to keep a body like mine going. I thought about Jack, how he had gotten a compulsion to kill. I had a feeling that he might become evil later, but that was ok by then I would be gone, maybe start my own colony of the other side of the island. I decided to take a walk in the forest, as I walked past a tendril, I entered the opaque domain of the forest. The forest engulfed me and I forgot all my worries and felt at home for the first time. As a walked through I was rapt at my surrounding until I came in to a opening, it was majestic. There was a flat bed of rock where not much weeds could grow and surrounding the area was a fallen tree, and beautiful candle flowers there aroma drawing me in. I had to keep this place a secret and only come here when it was completely necessary in case someone else followed me there. I made my way back to the beach to supervise the littluns while they swam. As Jack came back from the hunt the vicissitudes of the hunt were visible. As soon as he came back Ralph ran over to him and scolded him. Although I was far away some words were clearly heard even as the littluns played. They had been working on huts all day and no one had asked me, I gladly would have helped; the day had been so boring. Soon Jack and Ralph went swimming and I went to sleep.

Chapter 2: fire on the mountain
Writing from the perspective of: Ralph
I had just came back from our exploring around the mountain. When we arrived I suspected that they hadn't done anything at all but That was ok it was only the first day. "We need to signal the boats in so let's make a fire" I said. The boys cheered loudly at having something to do. I and all the other boys ran up to the mountain in a officious, and ebullience manner. As we reached the peak of the mountain induced all of the people to get to work. We worked fast, and hard and finally had a big pile. I had noticed that piggy decided not to show up, always trying to be to bossy and break all the rules. It wasn't that I didn't like him it was that After we had made the pile we realized all at once that we had no way to start a fire "Anyone got and matches" Jack said "Maybe there's some matches in the plane"Then I saw piggy come up the hill, and at once all the commotion stopped "Piggy's glasses, we can use them to start a fire" Jack jumped on piggy and pinched his specs. jack used the glasses as a magnifying glass to focus the light onto a moldy piece of wood that easily caught on fire. As the flames shot upward the boys and I shouted out in accomplishment. The excitement did not last long among us. We soon saw we would need more smoke and a lot more wood to keep it burning. As the fire leaped out of the pile and into the forest, I knew that we should of been more carful but Jack just accused piggy of everything. "Shut up!" He said. I though this was getting a little out of hand "Just come up to me all errant and then steal my specs!" piggy said. it went on like this for a while. With people yelling at each other and piggy got all mad and though we were acting childish.

Lord of the fly’s chapter one: The sound of the shell

Writing from the perspective of: Jack

Title: The expedition

I awoke from the effulgence of the crash and looked around. There was my choir, in black coats and hambone frills, standing all around me some with faces of complete terror others with no expression a all.

Precentor, are you all right?”

“Fine” I said quickly, “Get in line” I yelled. Within three or so seconds all of the choir boys got into line, just how I had trained them. “We need to see if this is an island” I said mostly to myself, not many of the choir boys really respected me. As a started towards the highest point I could see, I heard I weird noise. “That way” I yelled pointing toward the direction of the noise. I heard it twice more on the way towards the noise, as we approached the noise I could hear murmurs ahead. As we broke out through the canopy of the trees we spotted a large group of boys. I made a quick glance around, one boy was holding a conch, and he must have blown the conch to call us all to gather. There was also a rather plump boy talking to a group of small kids.

To tell the truth I was specious of the whole group would they take away my glory?

I told the whole group of my idea and me, Ralph, and Simon set out to find if this was an island.

On the way back we found a small piglet, I ran over knife poised, and was about to kill it but hesitated for just a moment, if one quick blow I could take a life, no matter how significant. I regretted later when I was hungry.
