LOTF: Chapter 12: cry of the hunters

Well, today was the day of the hunt, not for pigs, but for me. Let me recall what happened yesterday. Yesterday, I went on a mission to find Samneric. It turned out that Samneric were joining the dark side and that I was on my own. They wished me luck and set me of, they said it was for my own good and they gave me some meat to. I told them where I was hiding, and I hoped they were still good and lead jack away from me. I hoped to diddle them. A day passed and I was still hiding in the brush, a stick sharpened and both ends? What could that mean? I heard them make a cordon, and were combing through the forest by now. But they weren't making a cordon they were looking for me! Samneric must have told Jack! I heard a rock coming down the cliff they must be trying to scare me out, it wouldn't work. The rock hit me and I bit my finger so I wouldn't scream and then they would know where I was. There was only one other rock that they could possibility move, and that was a size of a small cottage. They then lit the forest and tried to burn me out. I meet a savage and bowled over him and was on the run again. I meet a few savages and they didn't stay in my way. I made my way to the beach, there was a naval officer his coat was covered in epaulettes, and white drills on his coat. We were finally saved! presevial approached the officer and was about to recite his name, address and phone number but he was so overwhelmed with the happiness of being rescued he broke down and started to cry in spite of happiness. The naval officer was disappointed in us for being such savages because we were British. Ralph takes responsibility for all the boys on the island and what the people had done because he thought he was still the leader, even though jack was the more powerful. Jack had no objection and was truly sorry for his actions.

1. In the beginning of the chapter, what does Piggy tell Ralph to do with the conch?
piggy tells ralph to blow the conch and call a meeting.

2. What reason will Piggy give Jack for the return of his glasses?
Piggys reson to give back the glasses is becase he cant see and he tells jack that its just the right thing to do

3. What does Ralph declare their appearance will be when they approach Jack?
Ralph thinks there appearence should be professional.

4. Who challenges the boys on their approach to Castle Rock?
rodger chalenges them and threatens to push down the boulder.

5. When Jack appears, what has he been doing?
When jacks appeares he is just returning from a hunt

6. What does Ralph call Jack that provokes a fight?
a theif

7. What happens to Samneric after the fight?
They join jacks tribe by force.

8. What is Roger doing during Piggy’s plea for a return to decency?
Throwing a small rock up and down in his hand.

9. Write a STRONG PARAGRAPH about who is responsible for Piggy’s death and why.

I think Rodger is responsible for piggy's death because he acted without jack permission and pushed the boulder down, TRUCULENTLY, on piggy. If jack had told him to it would of been jacks fault but becase rodger acted at his own will it is his fault. Now maybe rodger was DELIRIOUS but that is no excuss to kill someone. Rodger i think is more guilty then jack becase he was the one who killed piggy.

Chapter 10

ok, so im dead so what? Piggy and ralph are talking about me and im kinda mad at piggy, he says it was my fault for stumbling out of the jungle, its not my fault, i didn't think that jacks gang would just kill anything in sight. Also I was tired and delusional, i mean for goodness sakes I saw a talking pig head!!! Ralph i admire he at least admitted it was wrong what jack did instead of trying to cover it up. Well i decided to go to jacks place to see if they had a reasoning for killing me. Jack thinks tat me crawling out of the forest looking like a beast was my fault and then there's that evil kid rodger i bet he is responsible to half of the things that jack does. I think its that chant, it gets them all pumped and then something bad is bound to happen. Also they are planning to sweep the island and kill Ralph. I feel bad for him.

Blog Post chapter 8

Writing about: The scene when the Lord of the Flies talks to and threatens Simon.

Jack and his gang are in the forest and hunt down a pig. when they finally kill the pig after a struggle, man vs pig the gang slits its throat. There is blood and guts spilled out like a discarded object. The blood has stained the boys skin and is becoming encrusted upon them. The scene of this scares Jack and his gang to flee the scene and run in terror. As the pigs head is skewed upon the stick that Rodger had prepared. As the day passes and Simon apeares on the scene, the pig is far from a fresh kill. The pig has attracted flies and is a scene of fear to Simon. Simon approaches the pig with a strange courage within him. The Lord of the Flies is calling him, torturing him, implanting fear into his brain. Simon runs to the hill and finds the dead aviator and goes to tell Ralph that there is no beast. The fear of the Lord of the Flies leads to Simons death witch is the most gruesome and scary part of the book.

Chapter 7: Shadows and tall trees
"Day at the beach"

Jack was off again with a bunch of people, including ralph to go and find this beast. I guess it was ok if they did that becase then the littlins would finally shut up, and if not, things might get worse. It had been a while that i was on the beach, just listening to the sea, telling off littlins now and then. Most of the littluns were dun, and covered in brine but most of them, come night fall would burst into tears, I hope ralph is back by then. I remember when I used to play rugger, back when i was fit, of course if i told anyone that now they'd make fun of me. Back then i wasnt the best, and wasnt the worst player, i was a smart player though, i made smart plays just like now, altuogh im not the leader im the smart one. While i was thinking, simon came out of the woods, with a certian bravado about him, i dont know why he mustof walked for a long time before he came here so he must of ben scared but he didnt look it, it looked like he had just gone through disneyland. He told me sagly that raplh and jack and the others were going to the fire mountian to light the fire. I told him "but they aint got my glasses", He said that they were still looking for the beast and that they though that would be his hideout.

Ralphs perspective

The screaming of Sam and Eric as they came towards me, in the middle of the night as I was sleeping awaking me.
"The beast!!" they yelled simultaneously. Sam and Eric told me that they had been tending to the fire when on the other side of the fire, the beast appeared. They said that it had, teeth, fangs, claws, it had almost caught them.
As soon as the words came out to their mouths; Jack ranting about killing the beast again. Why didn't he ever think before making decisions, he just thought the best decision was to kill. He wasn't even thinking about anything before he made a decision, just thinking that killing could solve all his problems. anyway I thought about the situation and made a decisions. First of all, piggy would stay behind to watch the littluns, Jack just had to make a comment about that. Next we would set out to a part of the island no one really went and see if we could find this beast, and kill it. it sounded like a good plan to me.

Jack
I was startled by the sound of the conch blowing, far of in the distance. Oh great, I though, LUDICROUS Ralph and his leader thing, what’s he up to now calling a meeting at dark? Oh well I’ll go anyway. As a reached the beach, the first thing I noticed was the seriousness of Ralph, he was never like this, all solemn and gray? Something had to be up. As the meeting started the first thing he did was criticize us. I’ll tell you, that not very good leadership, telling people how there bad? First start out compliments and then tell them how they can improve, that’s how I would do it if I were leader. Then it was talk not working and, going to the bathroom all over the place. As far as I’m concerned, everyone should just do as he says no wait as I say, I want to be leader!! Anyway the whole meeting when downhill from there, talk about the beastie rose again making everyone afraid, couldn’t the littlins just shut up with there LAMENTATION! And then there was Piggy that fat, lying, DISCURSIVE boy, could he do as he was told, he always had to be the ‘parent’ couldn’t he just shut up!! But I rose up, out of all the confusion “ill kill the beast”. It was like a INCANTATION, all the littlins followed me, as their leader to kill the beast! We ran out into the jungle with torches, and sticks, and knifes, it was the biggest hunting expedition ever, we approached the woods TEMPESTUOUSLY. We were out to kill.

Title: Painted faces and long hair

Writing from Simon’s perspective

Title: The hunt

  1. What things are you having trouble adjusting to on the islands that are different from your life at home in England?

Life on the island has been tough for all of us. Jack looks like he has adjusted well, too well... in fact I suspect that he also doesn’t want to be rescued.

  1. How do you feel about the littluns?

The littluns, as usual running around like this is some sort of resort. They need to start working otherwise they're going to get punished. I feel that they should at least try to help. Their disrespect is blatant.

  1. What do they do with their time?

The littluns just play all the time while we the biggins are working and hunting and building huts. They do nothing all day but swim and have fun.

  1. Why do you all paint your faces?

Jack and his clan of hunters are always so full of themselves thinking that they can just pick on Piggy and get away with it. When they go hunting, they paint their faces so that the pigs do not see them, and then they can form a circle around it and kill it.

  1. What does this foreshadow?

I think that the swarthiness of the painted faces is not a good sign for things to come in the future on this island. I think that the war paint means war and killing. The way they acted was so animal-like that I didn’t think they were human. It was all about killing.

  1. How do you feel when your face is painted?

I feel like malevolently killing something because that’s what I am, an animal or that’s what I feel like, Almost like I’m the paramount to a pig.

  1. Why doesn’t the passing ship see you on the island?

The passing ship does not see the fire because Jack let it go out. I told him it wasn’t a good idea, but he convinced me and now we lost a chance to be rescued.

  1. Why was the fire allowed to go out?

The fire was allowed to go out because the hunters and I needed more people to help make a circle and we let the fire out. It was a mistake though.

  1. What is the overall mood on the island at this time?

I think that the overall mood on the island is neutral. Although there is some heat between Ralph and Jack I don’t think anything serious is going to happen yet.

  1. What do you predict will happen next?

I think that the hunting will continue and that Ralph will take some initiative and get the little ones to work otherwise no meat for them!

LOTF chapter 3 (blog post 3)

Blog post 3: LOTF
From the perspective of: Piggy

The day started off as any other day would start, Ralph and jack were starting to bicker about responsibilities, and the “littluns” just acted like they had no care in the world. As Jack set of in the forest with the hunters I went to the deck and sat there. I had to think of a solution to these problems and sooner or later Jack or Ralph of someone would ask for my help, because sooner or later they would need me to help. I sat there for about an hour, thinking about things, and then I went to the fruit trees and ate some fruit. What I really wanted was some meat to keep a body like mine going. I thought about Jack, how he had gotten a compulsion to kill. I had a feeling that he might become evil later, but that was ok by then I would be gone, maybe start my own colony of the other side of the island. I decided to take a walk in the forest, as I walked past a tendril, I entered the opaque domain of the forest. The forest engulfed me and I forgot all my worries and felt at home for the first time. As a walked through I was rapt at my surrounding until I came in to a opening, it was majestic. There was a flat bed of rock where not much weeds could grow and surrounding the area was a fallen tree, and beautiful candle flowers there aroma drawing me in. I had to keep this place a secret and only come here when it was completely necessary in case someone else followed me there. I made my way back to the beach to supervise the littluns while they swam. As Jack came back from the hunt the vicissitudes of the hunt were visible. As soon as he came back Ralph ran over to him and scolded him. Although I was far away some words were clearly heard even as the littluns played. They had been working on huts all day and no one had asked me, I gladly would have helped; the day had been so boring. Soon Jack and Ralph went swimming and I went to sleep.

Chapter 2: fire on the mountain
Writing from the perspective of: Ralph
I had just came back from our exploring around the mountain. When we arrived I suspected that they hadn't done anything at all but That was ok it was only the first day. "We need to signal the boats in so let's make a fire" I said. The boys cheered loudly at having something to do. I and all the other boys ran up to the mountain in a officious, and ebullience manner. As we reached the peak of the mountain induced all of the people to get to work. We worked fast, and hard and finally had a big pile. I had noticed that piggy decided not to show up, always trying to be to bossy and break all the rules. It wasn't that I didn't like him it was that After we had made the pile we realized all at once that we had no way to start a fire "Anyone got and matches" Jack said "Maybe there's some matches in the plane"Then I saw piggy come up the hill, and at once all the commotion stopped "Piggy's glasses, we can use them to start a fire" Jack jumped on piggy and pinched his specs. jack used the glasses as a magnifying glass to focus the light onto a moldy piece of wood that easily caught on fire. As the flames shot upward the boys and I shouted out in accomplishment. The excitement did not last long among us. We soon saw we would need more smoke and a lot more wood to keep it burning. As the fire leaped out of the pile and into the forest, I knew that we should of been more carful but Jack just accused piggy of everything. "Shut up!" He said. I though this was getting a little out of hand "Just come up to me all errant and then steal my specs!" piggy said. it went on like this for a while. With people yelling at each other and piggy got all mad and though we were acting childish.

Lord of the fly’s chapter one: The sound of the shell

Writing from the perspective of: Jack

Title: The expedition

I awoke from the effulgence of the crash and looked around. There was my choir, in black coats and hambone frills, standing all around me some with faces of complete terror others with no expression a all.

Precentor, are you all right?”

“Fine” I said quickly, “Get in line” I yelled. Within three or so seconds all of the choir boys got into line, just how I had trained them. “We need to see if this is an island” I said mostly to myself, not many of the choir boys really respected me. As a started towards the highest point I could see, I heard I weird noise. “That way” I yelled pointing toward the direction of the noise. I heard it twice more on the way towards the noise, as we approached the noise I could hear murmurs ahead. As we broke out through the canopy of the trees we spotted a large group of boys. I made a quick glance around, one boy was holding a conch, and he must have blown the conch to call us all to gather. There was also a rather plump boy talking to a group of small kids.

To tell the truth I was specious of the whole group would they take away my glory?

I told the whole group of my idea and me, Ralph, and Simon set out to find if this was an island.

On the way back we found a small piglet, I ran over knife poised, and was about to kill it but hesitated for just a moment, if one quick blow I could take a life, no matter how significant. I regretted later when I was hungry.
